My Slash 4x4 complete rebuild

So guys i figured i would share the winter project that i have planed for my slash 4x4

After my traxxas motor loosing a bearing a unwinding the windings during a main at our invataionall i decided to do a complete overhaul of this truck.

I am going to put upgrades in all the spots i feel it needs upgrades in.

Here is the list of stuff that i have already done to the truck:

Kingheadz Center diff mount
RPM A-arms
FLM center diff cup
FLM CVD kit
RPM bumpers front and rear
RPM rear cariers(will be taken off...see below)

Here are some things that i have on order:
Traxxas swaybar kit
RPM nerfbars
Castle Mamba Max Pro
Tekin SC4x


Here are the rest of the upgrades i have plans to order over the winter down season:
STRC Steering Bellcrank Set
STRC Front C-Hubs
STRC Front Steering Knuckles
STRC Rear Hub Carriers
STRC Front Shock Tower
STRC Rear Shock Tower
STRC Heatsink Motor Plate
Lundsford Turnbuckle and hingepin kit
Outerwears cover


I think that those upgrades should fix every problem that i had with my slash 4x4 over the summer racing season

This thread will be updated periodically throughout the winter(this probobly wont be finished till after christmas) with pictures and updates

Kyle Busch an RC entusiust?

So how many of you guys just watched Kyle Busch's pre-race interveiw?.

While he was being interveiwed he was holding an RC truck with a replica truck body of the truck that he is racing tonight....he also said that if there is enough interest in it, it may go into production..(the whole rc..)

Does this meen that traxxas is planning somthing else?...

It looked to be electric because there was no cooling head..

BTW so there is no missunderstanding....

It was a ON-road car/truck....not a slash with a body painted to look like his truck

So guys i figured i'd let you all know whats going to be going on with me for the next couple of weeks since i wont be on to give updates.

So on Wednesday i am leaving for about 2 weeks, we are drive straight through to Cedar Lake, Wisconsin where we will then be staying for about 3-4 days while enjoying the 1:1 stock car races which include the WoO late models and winged modifides on thursday, friday, and saturday night. We Will then be continuing on in our travels to The Sprint Car capital of the world... KnoxVille Iowa. We are going to watch the 50th Annual Knoxville Nationals live!

I can wait to get down there, it's going to be awsome to see the legendary nationals live.

i think the only bad part of this trip is that i'm going to be without any r/c's for 2 weeks . I was origanally going to bring my slash 4x4 but i have a invatational race to attend at the local track either the weekend after i get back or the weekend after that and i can't risk breaking it before then.
Although i am getting a new bike tomorrow which you guys will see a thread about before i go so it should be ok.

I will be sure to take tons of picks while we are down there to post up for you guys

I wont be back untill around the 16th or 17th so it's going to be a long time away from the forum aswell lol.

Slash 4x4 battery's

Hey guys i really need some more batteries for my slash 4x4

What are all of you guys running?

I'm waiting on some 2s 5000mah lipos to come from HK through a guy in town...but HK is still having problems and i think it's going to be a while before they come.

So i want to buy some Nimhs to get me by...what do you guys recomend in the 7 cell, 5000mah range
