So I too have joined the ranks of the scalers, and I bring to you Project Love me!
This is going to be my attempt at making a scale rig that not only looks good, but crawls and has some speed behind it. So...lets kick this off with how is came to me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Started a mini tear down, and there is some rust and shot bearings...a given when you run a mud rig. ![]() Started work on the front axel,as that seemed to need the most attention. ![]() ![]() ![]() Replaced drive cups and bearings, soldered on a deans and had some dinner ![]() ![]() ![]() Rewired the lights up and installed the bumpers and took her out for a quick run! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I just placed an order for a full bearing set and I think I am going to order the metal links for this as well this week. Also will be working on some wheel wells too. Upcoming hop-ups are Pro-Line shocks,Hand Bros steering, four link rear and some scale add ons and more lights! Slightly farther down the road...HH TM 35T hand wound and HH TM ESC on 2 or even 3s!!! New body, tires and what ever else I think I need. Could do a front dig or might toy with installing a summit trans...not super sure yet. Stay tunned for a full rebuild soon!

I have been looking around for a new rc,and one of my main points is I want something that I must build.
To me it seems that RTR is the majority of whats out there, which is great to get new people into the hobby, but I think you miss out on some of the fun when you don't get to build your own kit. Like my AX10, I have spent so many hours changing this, drilling that, building this that I cannot bring my self to ever sell it...Even if I only use it here and there, all that time I have spent to get it to what it is today...well I can't put a price on that. Then with my 1/16 Slash,The truck was great but I then sold it a few months after I had it,Not that I did not like the truck...I just felt no connection to it as I bought it and slapped in some packs...I did not spend a few hours every day working on it till it was done, Then to stand back and say "Damn,I sure can build!" So what do you guys think??? Love to build or much rather just run 'em till you have to fix 'em?

Well a little background....
I put the Baja up last year after I ran out of fuel (I think I got the flux then...so I was "pre occupied"...) but forgot to run the motor to burn up any fuel left over in the chamber. Well thanks to the ethanol in the fuel here,it got hungry and ate my carb and base gasket...(Don't leave fuel in your baja!! lol) I ripped it all apart to check everything and replace gaskets and rebuild the carb. Also put on a new coil and plug as my stock coil was looking pretty bad. After that was done I installed some new fuel lines and filter(Full force v3 lines) and then found my carb was leaking from the slide, took that apart and put a little green slime on it and was good. So a little fuel and some priming and wow, I forgot how loud that DDM pipe is...Other then this kit im all electric, but man do I love the sound of a little 2 stroke Might take it out tonight once my RX shows up for a little test and tune...although I am not sure where I can run it now...can't run it in the park and I don't have street tires.... Gasser are fun
